Start building the first French luxury hotel in Mexico

Sofitel is located in Paseo de la Reforma and integrate in its lobby a house of 1958 designed by architect Rafael C. Goyeneche.

The French company formally began construction accorhotels Sofitel Mexico Reforma Wednesday with the ceremony of laying the first stone. The firm will invest more than $ 137 million to launch the first hotel of its five-star brand in Mexico .

The hotel , whose opening is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018 , will integrate in its lobby a house of 1958 designed by architect Rafael C. Goyeneche , located on the campus of Paseo de la Reforma 297, where the building is constructed.

“Sofitel Mexico Reforma, is not only a jewel of Mexican architecture , but also the first luxury hotel five French stars in Mexico and build on Paseo de la Reforma. , We are excited and proud because we know that is one of the most emblematic and beautiful avenues , not only in Mexico but in Latin America , “said Christophe Alaux , CEO of accorhotels for North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

During the construction process approximately 2,300 direct and indirect jobs , besides employing 350 operators when the hotel starts its operations.

The new hotel will have 275 rooms , 63 of which will be suites , pool , lobby bar & roof top bar, a restaurant , gym and spa. It will also include Club Millesime , boardrooms and commercial spaces.

The Mexican company Grupo ECO Developers will be responsible for the building. The construction company has completed projects such as Residential Park Interlomas , including real estate developments, detailed accorhotels in a statement.
